Gary Bettman with Another Controversial Statement at Yesterday's Press Conferences

The latest one that we can add to his list of things he says with no filter is in regards to the idea that some teams are purposely tanking in order to get Bedard.

Bettman was quoted saying, "nobody tanks," in regards to a question stemming from the idea of tanking.

This is extremely contradicting for an obvious reason: there are clearly teams tanking!

There are a handful of teams projected to finish with less than 60 points on the year, which is higher than usual.

On the flip side, there are almost 10 teams projected to finish with 100+ points.

Due to teams tanking from every division, it is truly difficult to determine the power rankings of teams outside of the Bruins. The Bruins are clearly the top team, and one of the best in NHL history. Behind them it will be a flip of a coin of who will win each series in the playoffs.

I respect the idea of tanking, because it is a huge risk for management and ownership. Look at the Blackhawks; they weren't good for a while, but still got people into the stands. Now that they are tanking, they are struggling mightily in attendance, which lowers the team's revenue and forces prices to go up.
