Tonight, Canada and Finland are battling against each other for the IIHF World Junior Championship Gold Medal for the first time in World Junior final history. Although, between the two countries, they have taken six of the last nine gold medals in the tournament. Whoever wins this game, will be the ONLY country with four gold medals in a decade. These two teams met previously in the preliminary round, with Canada taking the 6-3 win.

Finland has won all three of the last gold medal games they've been in and took home bronze last year. Canada makes it to the final for the second straight year and is 2-2 in their last four gold medal games.
Canada's captain, Mason McTavish, holds the scoring title in the championship so far with eight goals and 15 points. The team holds 57% power play success, while Finland clocks in at just about 54%.

The Canadians are only slightly favorited to win gold, but their past statistical numbers are on their side. These two teams have met each other 40 times total in WJC history (in the whole tournament) and Canada is 25-9-6 against Finland and outscored them 160-103.
With all that being said, Canada vs. Finland is going to be a very close-matched and exciting game.
My prediction? Canada takes the gold, 6-4 (6th goal is an empty netter.)
