As the NHL season draws nearer and training camp is set to open in September within the next few weeks, NHL teams and their general managers are gearing up for the upcoming wave of fan entertainment and the pursuit of victory in as many games as possible.

Naturally, maintaining a high level of entertainment value is paramount, as fans are willing to pay top dollar to witness their favourite players and teams vie for success. All NHL teams boast mascots that traverse the NHL rinks, engaging the crowd and orchestrating fun activities on the ice and around the stands to enhance the entertainment.
One particular mascot under scrutiny is Gritty, the orange, big-eyed monster representing the Philadelphia Flyers. His life's journey is documented on Twitter, and a few days ago, a notion arose that he should acquire a chest tattoo.
