Since the late 2010's, the Philadelphia Flyers have been searching for the next star to be the face of their franchise as they transition into an era without guys like Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek and eventually, Sean Couturier. Some guys showed flashes but never reached their full potential like Shayne Gostisbehere, Ivan Provorov and Nolan Patrick. After seemingly leading the Flyers through the first half of 2023-24 season, have the Flyers found their guy in a 23-year-old left wing?

2018 first round pick Joel Farabee has arguably been the Flyers best player on the ice this season and has absolutely racked in the points. Farabee sits with 40 points on 23 assists and 17 goals thus far this season with a +4 rating.
After already surpassing his career high in points for a season, the question has to be asked; is Joel Farabee on pace to be the next face of the franchise for the Flyers.
Many have seen this and have seen the improvements that Farabee has made this season, but when compared to a Flyers legend, the similarities are uncanny.

Before his departure, former Flyers captain gave much praise to Farabee and is showing why this season. When you compare Giroux's numbers at age 23 and Farabee's numbers at age 23, it's hard to tell the difference.
If Farabee remains healthy, will he reach a 70 plus point this season? It sure seems like he is on his way.
