Giroux has since become a free agent and signed with his hometown team, the Ottawa Senators, fulfilling every NHLers dream of playing for his hometown. The now 36-year-old center has 15 goals and 27 assists in 46 games played this year, showing he still has enough left in the tank to lead a team. His overtime goal on Monday night against the Predators showed that he is in no way slowing down.
Giroux will always be beloved in Philly and hopefully one day, he will make his way back here, whether that is to finish his illustrious career, or to retire as a Flyer.
