The Calgary Flames believed they had everything they needed to take a serious Stanley cup run, and on paper, they did. However, they would see their season come to a disappointing end by the hands of their greatest rivals the Edmonton Oilers.

This was definitely heartbreaking for the Flames, especially for players like Johnny Gaudreau. His future is now uncertain, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent.

Many of Flames fans are hoping the he returns. However, after Johnny Hockey's first ever 100 plus point season, he is looking to make money with a big pay day.

The Flames have obliged offering Johnny Hockey a $76 million dollars with a annual salary of $9.5 million dollars. Unfortunately for the Calgary Flames though, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Gaudreau has shut down all negotiations between his agent and the Calgary Flames.

I think the contract was more then fair but do you think it wasn't enough of Gaudreau or does he just simply want to play elsewhere next season?
