Here's why the Flyers will not sign Claude Giroux this summer

However, there's one big element that will not help the Flyers management if they want to sign Giroux this summer : the cap space.

They only have 5.1M$ free under the cap.

They will have to sign players like Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost this summer. Of course, they will not command a lot of money, but when you have that little amount of money available, it's not easy to make a big splash during the Draft and Free Agency.

One thing is for sure : Fletcher will be active this summer. He wants his team to be competitive this summer so he will have to make big moves in order to liberate some space under the cap.
