The end of 2022 and the start of 2023seem to indicate that parents and coaches overreacting in children's hockey games is unfortunately becoming more widespread.

The incident mentioned which relates to theeabove occurred recently during a Michigan Hockey game with players who were under the age of 12. After the final buzzer sounded, the head coach of the opposition clotheslined a young boy.
He is believed to have been angry when the last horn sounded for whatever reason, but whatever the circumstances are, this is totally wrong for anyone of any age! The youngster who was being taken down is the son of former ECHL Hall of Fame goaltender Joel Martin, a goaltender who spent many years in the AJHL, ECHL, and USHL, as reported/noticedby BladesofSteel.com.
Hopefully he gets punished accordingly, possibly with a lifetime ban from the league? That would be nice to see. The league has retreived the footage and we are waiting on news of what the coach will get.
