A vehicle collided with a school bus carrying a Chicago high school hockey team on Saturday night in northern Indiana, causing more than a dozen injuries, three of which were critical.

Authorities assert that a semi-truck struck the bus carrying the junior varsity hockey team from Chicago's Saint Ignatius College Prep High School at 8:06 p.m. on Saturday as they were travelling back to their hotel after playing a game in Warsaw.
The bus then reportedly rolled onto its side, pushing at least one child outside the vehicle due to contact.
On board the bus at the time of the collision were 23 children, two coaches, and the driver. At least 16 people were sent to surrounding hospitals, and it looked that one of the students was pushed from the bus by the force of the collision.

Three victims of the crash were said to have "very serious" wounds.
The semi-truck was reported to have swerved between lanes, accelerated, and off the road as it approached Warsaw on U.S. 30 only two minutes before to the collision, according to the police.
The semi ran over the bus, continued down the street a short way, and finally came to rest in a nearby ditch.
When the police approached the vehicle, they smelled alcohol strongly in the cab, and the driver's speech was slurred. When the motorist failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test, officers acquired a search warrant and went to a nearby hospital to take blood samples.
The driver, a 58-year-old New Yorker working for a company located in New Jersey, is being held while prosecutors prepare to file charges, including driving while intoxicated and causing serious bodily harm.
