Illinois High School Plays First Game Since JV Hockey Team was Involved in a Bus Crash
A little less than a week ago, the St. Ignatius College Prep (Chicago) JV Hockey team was on the way back from a tough 1-0 loss to Culver Academy (Indiana).
While on the way back, the team bus was hit by a semi truck that was being operated by Victor Santos, who failed a sobriety test on the scene.
According to police reports, Santos did not swerve or slow down to avoid a crash.
As a result, 16 people were injured, but luckily no one had died.

Fast forward 5 days, and St. Ignatius was back to playing hockey, but it wasn't the JV team. It was the varsity team who took on Mount Carmel High School.
Prior to the start of the game, the two teams joined for a moment to pray for those injured and affected by the crash.
This Saturday, the St. Ignatius hockey team is planning to have a more formal ceremony to pray and honor those involved in the accident.
The game is set to start just after the conclusion of the school's 5A state semifinal game for football.
