The career of Cayden Primeau has certainly not gone the way the Montreal Canadiens had hoped. Once touted as the future of Montreal's goaltending after Price retired, it appears that he needs a change of scenery to try to reset his career.

The Canadiens currently have a solid stock of goalies in their system, including Primeau, Sam Montembeault and Jake Allen. As the Canadiens' rebuilding plans continue to evolve, they will likely explore a trade option to send Primeau to another team to recoup an asset and/or a draft pick.
It has been mentioned that three teams could be looking at Primeau as a possible goalie candidate. The Flyers, Sharks, and LA Kings have expressed interest in the young goaltender.

The Flyers have a direct connection to Primeau, as his father, Keith Primeau, played for the Flyers for numerous years and could influence bringing him to the city of brotherly love. The Flyers also have a decent stock of goaltenders, with Carter Hart, Samuel Ersson, and Felix Sandstrom all on the Flyers' depth chart. Sandstrom recently fell off due to some poor play and could be an option to trade for Primeau, as both players could use a change.
The Sharks are another team that is rebuilding and retooling and could use an upgrade in goal, as Mackenzie Blackwood and Kaapo Kahkonen are both approaching the age of 30. Their system will need an infusion of younger goaltending to help balance the depth chart.
The Los Angeles Kings are currently in a goalie debate, as Cam Talbot and Pheonix Copley are the main two goaltenders for the Kings. This organization is looking to rise in the standings, and there are several questions about whether these two could carry the load and potentially ask for a third player. The team has depth to offer and could give the Canadiens a draft pick or a prospect in return for Primeau.
The Flyers will be on the road as they play the Dallas Stars on Saturday, October 21st, at 8:00 PM Eastern.
