It isn't an endearing term to most, but after the Flyers 3-2 comeback win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, homage was paid to Flyers legend Ken Linesman.
After watching his linemate bury the game winner, Kevin Hayes was asked to speak about the play of Travis Konecny and his hot start. In the post game interview, Hayes couldn't help but take a subtle dig at Konecny, affectionately referring to him as an energetic rat on the ice.
The term is well known in Philadelphia, as Ken «The Rat» Linesman established himself as one of the biggest pests in NHL history.

According to Hayes, who couldn't help but smirk after making the cheap shot, Konecny may be the heir apparent to Linesman, as being the next rat in Philadelphia. TK has large skates to fill to wear that title and will be in a constant battle with the Bruins Brad Marchand, if he wants to be crowned, as the NHL's biggest rat.
Konecny may have landed Jake Guentzel's vote already!
Whatever Konecny is doing this year, let's hope it continues. TK currently has 3 goals, 1 assist, and a game winner in just two contests for the Flyers.
