In the NHL and all professional sports leagues, it takes a village to have a successful organization. From the athletic training staff, equipment staff, medical staff, stadium staff and many more, it takes thousands to contribute to the success of a team. For the Flyers, Rick Bronwell best exemplifies those sentiments.
On Saturday night, Flyers equipment manager Rick Bronwell celebrated his 2000th career NHL game. The Flyers honored him in a special way as each player dawned t-shirts before the game dedicated to Bronwell.
The shirts were of course, orange and black as they read "Rick Bronwell, 2,000 Pro Games," with logos from every team he has worked for is displayed. Bronwell has spent most of his time with the Flyers, but has also been a part of the Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks and some minor league organizations throughout his career.
The highlight of the night for Bronwell came after the Flyers victory, when he was chosen to dawn the victory underdog mask and let out some barks that fired up the Flyers locker room and gave Bronwell a memory he will treasure forever.
