In this clip, you will see that Ivan Fedotov is a great goalie. He was selected to start for CSKA Moscow as their starting goalie during the season opener, as you can see in the clip below.

As Fedotov has not worn a CSKA jersey since April of 2022, there was an issue regarding his contract with the club after serving his time in Russian detention.

Ivan Fedotov literally made an illegal save, as he was supposed to be suspended after the last IIHF ruling, giving him leeway to play in the North American market despite the contract situation that has been sorted out by now.
In the end, the stop on the Semyonov penalty shot shows Fedotov still has it, and the Flyers prospect is all the more exciting due to the fact that the KHL is playing in the face of the IIHF and international law.
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov and CSKA Moscow have violated sanctions imposed by the IIHF after the Russian played the first regular season game for CSKA on Friday despite being suspended from national and international play.

Fedotov and CSKA were initially sanctioned after the club signed the 26-year-old to a two-year contract, but the IIHF, hockey's world governing body, determined the deal to be a breach of international transfer regulations because Fedotov did not obtain a release from his contract with the Flyers.

Fedotov was given a four-month IIHF suspension, spanning from CSKA's first regular-season game on Friday through Dec. 31.
