Jack Eichel Responds to Claims Made by NBA Legend Charles Barkley
During the Stanley Cup Finals, Jack Eichel had an encounter with Charles Barkley in a hallway. Although Eichel was already engaged in conversation with someone else, Barkley introduced himself.
Eichel has since clarified that he was aware of Barkley as a TV personality but may not be familiar with his basketball career.
«I think that was a little unfortunate. I think it was taken out of context. I was in a conversation with somebody, and he came by and introduced himself. We said hi quick. And he said, �I don't want to interrupt you,' and he kind of just kept on walking down the road. And that was the extent of it,» explained Eichel, a Massachusetts native who roots for the Boston Celtics.
«So, it might have just been taken a little bit wrong. But he's awesome. It's great that he's been following hockey, and it's cool to see the relationship that the TNT guys have formed.
«But I'm a big Inside the NBA fan. I think they do a great job on that show, and I really enjoy watching it.»

Eichel, a fan of Inside the NBA, expressed his support for the Boston Celtics and his appreciation for Barkley's interest in hockey. He explained that the encounter may have been taken out of context and emphasized his admiration for Barkley and the TNT crew. Despite their different sports backgrounds, Eichel believes Barkley could offer insights on fighting in the paint.
