Jacob Trouba is making himself known as a villain. He is not a goon, or an enforcer, he is just a villain.

The reason I say he is a villain is because there are way too many questionable or dirty hits for him to be a goon or enforcer.
Well, here he is again, as the headline to my article, thanks to this questionable attempt to hit Montreal's Joel Armia.
Must read on FlyersInsider
Though the hit did not connect, you can see that Trouba clearly leads with his elbow in an attempt to knock down Armia. I get maybe he didn't purposefully think about throwing the elbow and that it could have been a natural reaction to being further away from Armia than he thought, but by rule an attempted elbow like that should result in a two-minute minor.
Not all of his hits are little, like this one. Check out this brutal hit he laid on Andreas Athanasiou of the Blackhawks last month.
This is a dirty hit. I get he is trying to make a play, but he did not glide into Athanasiou one bit, and he even extended his arms upward to inflict more bodily harm. This should have been a two-minute charging penalty at the least.
I think Trouba is a dirty player now. There has just been to many situations where Trouba has been involved in questionable hits for me to not think he is dirty.
