John Tortorella Benches The Teams $50m Defensemen and Forward For Entire Second Period
Head coach John Tortorella has made it a goal this year to teach and explain his way of how hockey should be played to the Flyers. He has never deviated from his strategy and always preaches defence first as the season has rolled on.
With the Flyers playing the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight, torts made his lineup know that he was not pleased.
Joel Farrebee and Travis Sanheim, who are two players that have felt the wrath of Tortorella play a total of five minutes and seven seconds and five minutes 15 seconds total all game, which includes an entire benching of the second period.

Tanner Laczynski who was not in Torts good graces only receive three shifts during the second. This meant the Flyers only rolled 9 forwards in the second.
With the offseason and draft looming, it remains to be seen how many Flyers will remain with the team as general manager Chuck Fletcher will continue to evaluate players with the remaining 20 games.
Based on the performances lately, there's a good chance that torts will tell Fletcher that many players may not cut it for next season.
The Flyers ended up losing 5-2 to the Lightning.
