Newly acquired Flyers forward Brendan Lemieux was looking for a change of scenery and a change of pace when he received the call that he was traded to the Flyers.

Lemieux's season has not gone the way he has hoped as he was dealing with an injury before the trade. The 26-year-old left winger spoke with the media today in preparation for his debut tonight at home against the Detroit Red Wings.
Having turned the page on his time in Los Angeles, Lemieux feels that his brand of hockey will align well with head coach John Tortorella in his defence-first style system. It will be the 4th organization that Lemieux played for when his career began with the Buffalo Sabres also led him to stops with the New York Rangers, the LA Kings and now the Flyers.

He was drafted in the second round 31st overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He's played 27 games this season with three assists and holds a - 6 with 53 penalty minutes.
Head coach John Tortorella also weighed in on his view about the recent acquisition of Lemieux. Torts explained that he will be using Lemieux in different spots along the line-up and he's also going to groom him to try to kill penalties since he gives energy to the team.
It remains to be seen how effective Lemieux will be for the Flyers. He is currently in the last year of his deal that's worth $1.35 million and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Giving up on Zach MacEwen and a fifth-round draft pick to acquire him, certainly means Chuck Fletcher will have to resign him.
