Flyers head coach John Tortorella has always spoken his views regarding controversies that have surfaced over the years during his career. Torts in a surprising but interesting interview with the media regarding his defense of Ivan Provorov and his choice not to participate in the warm-up on pride night.
Tortorella gave a quite detailed view of what he thought about the situation, he even mentioned a past incident in which he gave his opinion and admitted that he was wrong about pushing his view towards others.
He also told the media that he had extensive conversations with Provorov regarding his choice and he stood by him. He also brought up the idea that someone can disagree with a choice made however that doesn't make that person wrong.
The subject has certainly been a lightning rod for the Flyers in terms of bringing attention to the team. The Flyers are continuing to try to find their identity as a hockey team and preparing for the March 3rd trade deadline that's fast approaching.
Time will tell to see if the Flyers will move Provorov at the deadline as it's been rumored he hasn't been on good terms with the Flyers well before this incident occurred.
