John Tortorella Gives Statement to Players
We all know John Tortorella is a very stern head coach. He sticks to the back-in-the-day style. But he's also a good head coach.
Well, another thing about Tortorella is that he doesn't sugarcoat anything. He always gives things straight. Well, in the message the players got today, this is a great example of it.
"We have a young core and there's going to be spots available. If you think you kind of have a spot, don't get too comfortable. Everyone's got to prove something.

That was the message young gun Owen Tippett got this morning from Torts. Tippett is only 24 years old, but is one of the best players on the team and arguably the best prospect they have, if you still want to call him one. Last season, Owen had 27 goals and 22 assists, tallying up to 49 points in 77 games.
This was just simply a message to not get too comfortable. And there are a lot of good, young players in the Flyers organization. So who knows, maybe you'll just lose your spot.
