The Philadelphia Flyers have had a bad history with management and staff.

Finally, this organization ripped apart the previous brass who were not working is a step in the right direction, especially on the medical staff front.
The team's medical staff was to blame for players struggling to return to full health, rushing players back too quickly, and saying they're healthy when in reality they are far from it.
A classic example of this is Sean Couturier and Cam Atkinson. Couturier, who has been out since December 18, 2021, had tried to make returns previously. However, he was rushed and was never able to return to full health. Of course, at his age, it isn't expected of him to be at a full 100%, but he can play at 5060%.

This year, things seem to be different; nonetheless, that has been said before. All though Sean Couturier is actually back on the ice, looking like himself again, creating plays, battling for the puck in the corner, etc.
In previous years, the Flyers management has been almost lying to the fans, saying that players are healthy when, in reality, they are far from it. So, actually seeing Coots back on the ice is a huge step in the right direction.
Sean Couturier himself has even spoken out about how helpful the medical staff has been over the past few months, preparing him for the upcoming season and nurturing Coots back to good health.
The Flyers held a press conference this morning, in which head coach John Tortorella was asked about Sean Couturier and how he expects him to handle this season:
Right now, it will take a lot of trial and error to see where Coots fits into the lineup, how productive he can be, and, not to mention, if he can stay healthy.
