Coach John Tortorella has been out of the league for a few years now. People may say he isn't the same coach as once before, he hasn't kept up with the times, he may not even be able to win anymore. It has been an off season of doubt thus far, but I don't think the coach should be one of them. He is showing what a team player he is going to be.
In a recent interview, the new coach expressed his frustration of what he has been hearing and reading about the feelings towards certain players and his GM. People are going to express themselves; disbelief has settled in but the fact that "Torts" has now expressed what he thinks, I believe that shows some great character.
When you bring in a controversial player Tony DeAngelo, you have to be ready for some heat. He has made a lot of mistakes on and off the ice. Doesn't take away from what he is capable of doing on, but composure and discipline will be taken into factor here and "Torts" believes that he has grown.
The non-signing of Johnny G has been a big disappointment to a lot, but the new coach actually backs the move that never happened. He goes off to mention "We have a little bit of building to do here and growing"
