Even though Chuck Fletcher could've gotten a 2nd round pick for Justin Braun, the trade he made with the New York Rangers (Flyers' GM acquired a 3rd round pick for the right handed defenseman) was fair.
Braun made his Rangers' debut last Tuesday, as he was paired with Patrik Nemeth on the 3rd defensive duo of the team. The former Flyer finished the game with 17:10 of ice time and a minus-2 differential.
And next thing you know, Gerard Gallant, the Rangers' head coach, made Braun a healthy scratch on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
So what's next for Braun? The Rangers play today against the Buffalo Sabres, so we'll see if the d-man will be put back in the lineup. But his performance on Tuesday wasn't very convincing. With that being said, Gallant will without a doubt give him another chance to prove himself.
