It's been reported by Elliotte Friedman on the 32-thoughts Sportsnet podcast that the Philadelphia Flyers are officially open for business, but it feels like Flyers fans were fooled before by Chuck Fletcher for stating the exact same thing.

This time seems a tad different though, Elliotte Friedman elaborated on the following:
Elliotte Friedman elaborated:
-Braun, Hayes, Provorov and 'Possibly' DeAngelo to be used as trade bait to acquire young players, who John Tortorella can develop (example used by Friedman; Owen Tippett).
Must read on FlyersInsider
-Fletcher has pulled out of a trade for a highly touted prospect Vitali Kravstov
-Fletcher pulled out of a trade to send James Van Riemsdyk and his hefty cap hit to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Denis Gurianov....
-James Van Riemsdyk traded by Friday
One thing Friedman and multiple insiders including Frank Seravalli commented on is Kevin Hayes, and his future with the Flyers reportedly coming to an end, view Frank Seravalli's full report on which teams showed interest:
Kevin Hayes 🆕
Contract: 3 more seasons, $7,142,857 AAV
Scoop: The market has heated up on the rangy, All-Star center in the last 24-48 hours with intelligence that the Flyers are willing to retain some salary on a transaction in order to facilitate a deal. How much? That depends on the return, and it's a big ask for the Flyers to retain for the next three years. Carolina, Colorado and Minnesota are among the teams that have been in touch with the Flyers on Hayes. He has a 12-team no-trade' list and none of those aforementioned teams appear to be on it. Hayes has size, plays a diligent and responsible two-way game, and changed the playoff performer narrative in the 2020 bubble with the Flyers with 13 points in 16 games. Hayes is also only due $17 million in real cash over the final three years of his deal relative to the nearly $21.5 million in cumulative cap hit.
