In a devastating incident, a man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the untimely death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson. The tragedy unfolded during a match against the Sheffield Steelers on October 28, where Johnson suffered a fatal neck injury from an accidental cut by an opponent, identified as Matt Petgrave, wielding a skate.
Following the incident, the Nottingham Panthers player was promptly taken to the hospital, but, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead. A subsequent post-mortem examination affirmed the cause of death as the severe neck injury sustained during the match.
