What if? What if the Philadelphia Flyers were able to sign defenseman Shea Weber? The Philadelphia tried to go all on taking Shea Weber from the Nashville Predators back in July 2012.
Offer sheets are a rare occurrence in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes being the only teams to use one in many years.
However, the Flyers management went all in on the offer sheet they gave to then Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber a 14 year contract worth more then $100 million dollars.
Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren would of been a hero if he was able to get the deal done but unfortunately for Flyers fans Nashville Predators Gm David Poile would match the offer.

Weber can still thank the Flyers because even though his career is over he's still getting paid from that offer Holmgren gave to him. Weber will still make $7,857,143 dollars until the end of the 2025-26 season.
