The Minnesota Wild Just Signed A Former 1st Round Draft Pick

The�Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin announced they have signed forward�Sam Steel�to a one-year, $825,000 contract today.

Steel was drafted in the first round back in 2016 30th overall. Steel was a star in junior hockey and was named the MVP for the Regina St Pats from the 2018 Memorial Cup.
Steel has yet to live up to the expectations people thought Steel would be in the NHL yet, but at 24 Steel still has time to turn it around and maybe the change of scenery will do him good in Minnesota.

Steel had 20 points in 68 games for the Anaheim Ducks last season while registering a career-high 27 blocks while also tying his career-best in goalswith six. Since joining the NHL, the 24-year-old has 65 points in 197 career NHL games.
Steel lost his spot with the emerges of Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras Steel was no longer in the Ducks plans for the future.
