When it comes to great teams they all have great goaltending. The Philadelphia Flyers believe they have that in 24 year-old Carter Hart.

Hart was selected in the 2016 NHL draft in the second round 48th overall. Last season like the most of the team wasn't a very good year for Hart going 23-24-7 with a 3.16 goals against and .905% save percentage.
Unfortunately Chuck Fletcher and the Flyers top brass have placed enormous pressure on Carter Hart for this coming season with the lack of much improvements other then acquiring defenseman Tony DeAngelo from the Carolina Hurricanes.
While looking over this Flyers roster, this year's team on paper other then Cam Atkinson could have trouble when it comes to scoring. Meaning Hart is going to have to turn his career around If the Flyers are to have any success.

Hart's backup Martin Jones numbers weren't any better last season, going 12-18-3, with a 3.42 goals against average and .900% save percentage.

Flyers new Head Coach John Tortorella would discuss his goaltenders saying:
"I do believe the first thing, as far as on ice that I need to attack, is the play away from the puck,» new Flyers Head Coach John Tortorella said at his introductory press conference. "I think we need give Carter a little bit more support as far as how we play around him. Allow him to really get himself into the National Hockey League. He's 23. 23 as goalie and I'm not making any criticisms of prior play, but this is how you go about it. I think we need to give Carter a little more support simple as that."

- John Tortorella

The Flyers are already predicted to miss the playoffs this upcoming season so they really have nothing to lose, but if Tortorella can get this team believing in each other and playing as a team along with reliable goaltending the Flyers could possibly sneak into the playoffs as a wild card team, but alot of that rests on the shoulders of Carter Hart.
