The San Jose Sharks have officially made NHL history .

The San Jose Sharks will welcome back a former player in forward Mike Grier and made the historic announcement that Grier will become the first NHL General Manager of colored decent.
The 47 year old played 14 seasons in the NHL beginning in 1996 and he retired from playing in 2011. The hiring of Grier is hopefully a fresh start for the San Jose Sharks, who have struggled in recent years. Hopefully, he can return this team to the respected franchise it was during the Thornton and Marleau era.
