Management changes continued to come fast for the Flyers. According to reports, Dave Scott is retiring from his position as CEO of Comcast Spectacor and will be replaced by Dan Hilferty as chairman and governor of the Flyers.

'Bundy' Chris Therien has chimed in on it, and is more than thrilled...
I've met him a few times over the years. He appears to be the real deal. He is a true Philly guy and is passionate about Philadelphia sports and it's fans. Was responsible for bringing the World Cup here in 4 years. Major Power Player!

It has been rumoured for weeks that this change is imminent. When Chuck Fletcher was fired from his president and general manager position and Danny Briere was installed as interim general manager, rumours circulated that Dave Scott might be the next to step down.
Hilferty has been working as the chief executive officer of Independence Blue Cross since 2010. He has extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania and has worked in numerous organizations throughout Erie, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. He brings an excellent resume concerning running organizations and will be the direct contact with the incoming president.
These changes are necessary for the Flyers as they are trying to move away from their old model and trying to bring the team into the 21st century.
With Scott retired, and Briere currently in the interim GM position what's next would be to fill the President of hockey ops position.
The Flyers haven't made it a secret that they want to separate the jobs and hand over hockey operations to one person while player decisions and roster configuration will fall in the hands of the general manager.
Numerous names have come up for the president's job including Ray Shero and Dean Lombardi.
