A debate is stirring on social media regarding the recent tragic death of Adam Johnson during a hockey game. Some are now questioning whether it was truly an accident caused by a skate cut, and this perspective is being supported by former NHL players.

Three ex-NHL players have expressed doubts about the incident, suggesting it may not have been the freak accident it initially appeared to be. Chris Therrien, a former NHL defenseman, is the most vocal, stating that he believes Sheffield Steelers defenseman Matt Petgrave's actions were intentional to have his skate his Adam Johnson's neck. He has passionately shared his opinion on social media.
''After seeing the incident involving Adam Johnson, that Bush league needs to shut down for investigation immediately. I was literally appalled and sickened by what I saw. It looked intentional. It was a Kung fu kick. My eyes are not lying tell me I'm wrong''

''I saw the incident involving Adam Johnson and if the British police do not get involved then the NHL should Step Up and demand an investigation! This was one of the worst things I've ever seen and the worst thing I've ever seen on the ice! It looked like deliberate Act of Retribution or just the act of a sick human being. Either way this needs to be looked at and this bush League needs to consider its future,''
Said Chris Therien on Facebook.
Marc Methot, another former NHL defenseman, while not alleging intent, described Petgrave's actions as reckless and aimed at obstructing Johnson.
Former NHL player Daniel Carcillo echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that he believes this was not a freak accident. Carcillo pointed out specific details in the video that suggested intent, though he doesn't believe it was meant to be fatal.
A police investigation is underway, adding to the ongoing debate in the hockey community. The complexities of the case continue to be discussed as people seek answers.
