After a poor and miserable 2022-23 campaign, the Philadelphia Flyers organization was looking for a change after relieving Chuck Fletcher of his duties as General Manager.

Now, with former Flyer Danny Briere taking the reins things have gotten better on and off the ice.
The 2023 offseason has brought back the Philadelphia Flyers classic burnt orange along with some key veterans to wear the crest. Meaning, those new players have the opportunity of deciding on a jersey number to wear as well returning players also have that option.
New Jersey Numbers
Must read on FlyersInsider
Philadelphia Flyers fans will see 11 returning and new players wearing different jersey numbers. Starting off with Tyson Foerster, who was supposed to be given No. 18 but kindly gave it up to the veteran and new Flyer Marc Staal. Noah Cates, officially changes to No. 27 which was expected, along with Cam York, who will be supporting No. 8.
Ronnie Attard will dawn No. 23, Egor Zamula picks No. 5, Cal Petersen, sticks with what he knows and takes No. 40, Sean Walker, the other former LA King will stick with No. 26.
The former enemy from across the way, Ryan Poehling, former Pittsburgh Penguin will take JVR's number with No. 25. Poehling, will be the first player since 2017 who wore the number other than JvR. And rounding out the pack is new comer Garnet Hathaway who will rock No. 19 for the upcoming season.
A lot of low numbers in the mix, the only two high ones being No. 40 and No. 71 but other than that, it is pretty traditional. Will be good to see the Flyers back in the burnt orange and supporting some new numbers!
