Now that the NHL Draft Lottery is set, everyone wonders if there will be any changes. Will any teams try and move up in the draft?
The Philadelphia Flyers, and Interim General Manager Danny Briere, may look to be one of those teams to move up.
Danny Briere has spoken very highly about how he wants to do this the right way without any shortcuts. Sticking to the timeline while staying aggressive in an effort to shake it up. Meaning, he may do what he needs to do. By any means necessary, as he has already said that all cards are on the table, it just depends the hand he is given.
Brandon Sommermann, thinks now with Columbus sitting at No. 3, that the Flyers could get aggressive and trade up from No. 7. This coming from the talks of
Kevin Hayes, possibly being linked to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the NHL Trade Deadline.

Could the Hayes talks still be going on? Danny Briere, stressed the idea of being aggressive and getting that 3rd overall pick would be a huge kickstarter.
A possible trade proposal would be:
To Columbus Blue Jackets:
-Kevin Hayes ($2.1M retained)
-2023 7th Overall Pick
To Philadelphia Flyers
-2023 3rd Overall Pick
This does seem far fetched as you would think the 3rd overall holds a lot of value, yet it doesn't especially compared to the 1st overall pick this year. The Flyers may have to throw something else in to the mix, for the Blue Jackets to take the offer. Realistically this trade will favour both teams in the long run.
The Blue Jackets, will have money to go out and get free agents, although a lot of top players may not choose to go to a last place team. However, they may be more open to the idea with
Johnny Gaudreau, Patrick Laine, and Hayes playing together.
Kevin Hayes and Johnny Gaudreau played together at Boston College, In 2013-14, in their final year at BC, Hayes had a career year, putting away 27 goals and 38 assists. Gaudreau had 36 goals with 44 assists; earning him the Hobey Baker Award, the NCAA's top hockey award.
So, after failing to win the Draft Lottery for yet another year. General Manager Danny Briere, will be on the hunt to move up into a stacked top 5 and draft in general.
