NHL Hockey Operations Releases Statement After Controversy from Game Four

Incase you missed Wednesday night's game the Colorado Avalanche would go on to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 in overtime taking a 3-1 series lead.

After the game we would learn from Lightning head coach Jon Cooper the Lightning was not happy with something on the Nazem Kadri overtime winner. We would later learn from Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman that the Avalanche appeared to have 6 players on the ice when Nazem Kadri scored the winning goal.
NHL Hockey Operations has released the following statement regarding the Game 4 overtime game-winning goal.
"A too many men on the ice penalty is a judgement call that can be made by any of the four on-ice officials."

Following the game, Hockey Operations met with the four officials as is their normal protocol. In discussing the winning goal, each of the four officials advised that they did not see a too many men on the ice situation on the play.
This call is not subject to video review either by Hockey Operations or the on-ice officials."
