We all know that Jakob Chychrun has been rumored to be traded for... like forever. Well, now a new team who may not be a favorite, has emerged as a possibility.
Sportsnet.ca's Jeff Marek has suggested that the Buffalo Sabres could be a candidate to land the highly sought after blueliner.
The Sabres started out well, as they always seem to do, but have faltered of late including a seven-game losing streak.

The Sabres have a young team, but need players who can help them move forward. They currently possess the resources to acquire Chychrun if they want to take a run at him.
The Buffalo club has the second highest amount of cap space with $23.7 million available. So, money will not be an issue. What the Coyotes seek is draft picks and prospects.
There is a young prospect by the name of
Brett Murray who would fit right in with the Coyotes rebuild. And, since Arizona GM Bill Armstrong likes big bodies, this guy Murray fits the bill. He is 6'-5", 236 pounds.
He's playing in Rochester in the AHL and has eight goals, six assists in 14 games. He's a left wing and has played for the Sabres in the past couple of years. He has participated in 21 games with two goals, four assists.
Of course, the Yotes would want a first round pick or two to supplement the deal. The Sabres do have three second-round picks along with their first rounder for 2023.
For Chychrun, who holds no trade clauses, he may not prefer going to Buffalo... and who would after they got pelted with 66 inches of snow recently? It would be a rude awakening for Chychrun who is accustomed to sunshine in the desert.
But, just imagine a first line on the blueline consisting of
Owen Power and Jakob Chychrun. That would be fantastic.
Chychrun will be going somewhere soon, as he has shown all the teams interested in him that he is ready to go. He has collected one goal, two assists in the four games since his return. He is averaging over 23 minutes of ice time and the Sabres should be considering how to trade for him.
That is, if they wish to improve and be a competitive team again.
