After 2 years of pandemic, the annual rise of the salary cap is happening. The NHL informed all its general manager that the salary cap will be increased by $1 Million to a total of $82.5 million, beginning next season, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

The league has been operating with a salary cap of $81.5 million since the 2019-2020 season but the money lost by the league during those 2 years explain why no changes were made.
Will it help the Flyers or is it more an advantage for wealthier franchise?
