In a recent interview done today, NHL reporter and radio host spoke to QMJHL scout Simon Boisvert about Juraj Slafkovsky and notably about his excitement for Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier.

In his mock draft, Boisvert had Slafkovsky at 1, Gauthier at 2, Cooley at 3, Nemec at 4, Geekie at 5 and Wright at 6.
When asked why he had Gauthier so high, he responded by saying this.
"Because first of all, I didn't see any defensemen being elite enough in my book to be ranked that high."

He went on to say that Gauthier's ability to play center as well as wing made a huge impact in his ranking. Furthermore, Gauthier in his opinion, is more NHL ready than the other prospects.
"I see an NHL physique, an NHL shot and I also see a lot of grit and cockiness in this guy on the ice. Lots of skills and thats why I put him in front of his linemate Logan Cooley who is a shorter guy."

Boisvert says finally that he does not look at a player's potential wondering how he'll play in October or at home versus an easy opponent. He looks at players who are most likely going to make an impact when the season and the Stanley Cup is on the line.
"I always try to project them in the NHL playoffs. Not in October at home against a weak team when the score is 5-1. Im thinking what're they gonna do in may or June. And thats why I have Slafkovsky and Gauthier above Cooley. If i'm building a playoff team right now, I'm taking those two guys above Cooley."
