The Philadelphia Flyers have lacked identity over the past few years, and by identity I mean a purpose- what are the Flyers playing for? Are they going all-in for a playoff run, or tanking for a rebuild?

The Flyers are yet again in that limbo with the recent news of the teams defensive glue 'Sean Couturier'' who won the leagues best defensive forward aware ahead of Patrice Bergeron. Despite the news of Coots the Flyers still have two new acquisitions, Nic Deslauriers and Tony DeAngelo, who bring identity to their game.
DeAngelo is a offensive defensemen with a short-temper who isn't afraid to throw a hit, or drop the mitts when needed.
Deslauriers has been a proven fighter at all levels of hockey in North America, and someone who'll throw a hit at any given opportunity- sadly, Flyers top defensive prospect Cam York found that out the hard way.

York responded in a further interview on the Deslauriers hit:

Is Deslauriers going too hard in practice, or is this good to get Flyers players more aware before these hits come this season?
