The Philadelphia Flyers snapped an 8 game losing streak against the Islanders this afternoon by beating them by the score of 2-1. Hayes scored two times to lead his team to the W.
But the big story of today's game was the debut of
Owen Tippett with the Flyers. He didn't scored, but he made a really strong impression. With a little bit more luck, he could've had multiple points. He played 13:52 and registered two shots on goal. He was also playing on the first wave of the power play.

His biggest force is his shot, and we saw it today. The Flyers absolutely need more players with a "shoot first" mentality and Tippett seems to be this kind of guy.
Mike Yeo, the Flyers interim head coach, was really happy with the performance of his new player.
" [He] looks like a hockey player to me. Heavy shot, liked him shooting off the flank on the PP, liked his wall play," said Yeo.
