At 19, Dubois played against Ryan Kesler and the Anaheim Ducks. Tortorella instructed Dubois to cross-check Kesler at the face-off circle, leading to conflict between the two throughout the game.
There is no question that Tortorella's game is not only psychological off-the-ice, as shown by his media scrums, but also on the ice, as demonstrated by the way he orchestrates the frustrations of certain NHL players, like Kesler.
I'm sure there is no love lost between the two because of their shared history in Vancouver.
