While the majority of Patrick Kane trade rumors have involved the New York Rangers, another New York club is getting interested.

The New York Islanders could certainly use Kane's offensive prowess as they have a 3.19 goals scored a game average. While that isn't horrible as it places them 15th in the NHL, improvements could be useful.
The Isles are just barely in a wild-card slot with 32 points in 27 games played. Their cross-town rival Rangers are right on their heels with 31 points.
The Hawk's right-winger has collected just four goals, but has 16 assists. His point-per-game average is slightly lower this season with 0.80, compared to the last two campaigns where he averaged 1.18.

The Islanders could realistically use Kane's abilities to charge their offense and make a playoff run.
Can they afford Kane's salary cap hit of $10.5 million? Well, just barely as they have $10.895 million in their coiffures. It would be expected that the Hawks will retain up to 50 percent of Kane's contract to make a deal come to fruition.
If they were able to only need to pay half of Kane's contract output, they would have enough remaining to obtain another defenseman.
So, what would it take to get Kane to come to the Islanders? It may very well only take a few picks, a first and second-rounder, and a top prospect to acquire Kane's skill set.
Aatu Räty is the Islanders top prospect and could be included in a prospective deal for Kane. He has four goals, four assists in 18 games with the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL.
We all know that the Blackhawks are rebuilding, so a player like Räty along with a couple of picks will augment their rebuild significantly.
Now, this is all conjecture as Kane has a full no-movement clause in his contract. If the Isles can acquire Kane, they will surely want to lock Kane up to a multi-year deal if they acquire his services.
One thing is certain, if Kane goes to the Islanders, he would team up with Mathew Barzal. Here's what Barzal said about that possibility.
He's one of the best of all time, Barzal told The Post. It'd be pretty cool to play with a guy he was second-to-none. Such a good passer, such a good goal-scorer, too. He really does a lot of everything with the puck. It definitely would be cool. I don't know if [the rumor is] legit or not, but it'd definitely be cool.

Things may begin to develop with where Kane will be playing soon. He's also interested in overtaking Hawks legend Stan Makita's 1,467 points in a Chicago uniform, but he is at 1,200 right now.
It is beyond time for Patrick Kane to take his services elsewhere, as the Chicago club is not going to be competing for a Cup for at least a few more years.
Considering that the Islander's window to hoist another Cup is closing, adding Kane would certainly give them a shot.
And, as we all know a Patrick Kane shot is a thing of beauty to behold.
