Patrick Sharp Already Having A Huge Impact In Philadelphia
Patrick Sharp is one of the newest front-office hires in the Philadelphia Flyers front office, during the off-season. By giving up his commentary role on NBC, he heads behind the scenes, where all the action really occurs.
In his role as a special hockey advisor to hockey operations, he was hired by the Flyers to help change the entire face and identity of the Flyers.
Patrick Sharp met
Denver Barkey at the NHL draft and told him they were picked at the exact same spot: third round, 95th overall.
Barkey has gotten to know Sharp since then and said his NHL story is motivation for his own career.

After being drafted 95th overall in 2001, Sharp had a lengthy career that included three cup wins with the Dynasty Chicago Blackhawks and had been a Flyer at one time as well.
It is clear that this story resonated with Denver Barkey. Denver met with Sharp and after learning about Sharp's story, he went on to say that Sharp was an inspiration to him.
Aside from being a great influence on prospects in the organization, Sharp has also given them a reason to fight for their position on the Flyers organization one day, and he is giving them a great deal of motivation to do so.
The hiring of a three-time Stanley Cup champion to advise Danny Briere's team appears to have been a wise decision.
