Lehigh Valley played Saturday night against the Charlotte Checkers and lost 5-2. However, it's not the final score that caught everybody's attention, but the health of forward Jackson Cates.

In the 2nd period, Cates was on a shorthanded breakaway but was pushed from behind and fell very hard into the boards.
The 24-year-old player was stretchered off the ice, and went to the hospital. According to Phantoms head coach Ian Laperriere, he is "okay" but there haven't been major updates regarding his health.
"It's very tough. We look at the replay, he got pushed from behind. Hopefully the league's going to do something about it. He could have been paralyzed. I think he's okay, he's at the hospital right now," said Ian Laperrière.
