Sean Couturier, who had revisionary back surgery on October 27th to fix nerve irritation that persisted after his initial back surgery that was performed back in February of 2022, skated today for the first time post-second surgery.

He skated by himself, in full gear, on the secondary sheet of ice at the Flyers practice facility, while the team practiced on the opposite sheet of ice. According to a video shared by Philadelphia Inquirers, Olivia Reiner, he was skating gingerly with what appeared to be a trainer watching him closely from center ice.
The team has not provided any official updates on his current status, but the fact he's on the ice skating, even if only by himself, is a decent sign. If it continues, it'll be even better, but he did also do this after his last surgery, and then had many setbacks and wound up back under the knife, so baby steps. Baby steps.
