Some have emotional scars from their time in the military. Some have long-lasting injuries from combat. And some, to put it mildly, have had a difficult time adjusting to civilian life.
The Philadelphia Flyers Warriors are getting ready to gear up and head out to Michigan for the 2022 USA Hockey Warrior Classic. This weekend long of games played features teams from across the United States spread across tiers based on playing ability. Each team consists of disabled men and women who are veterans or active members of the military.
An event that the whole organization looks forward to and one they have much success at. One tier last year had swept the weekend series with the hat trick. In 2019, the Flyers Warriors erased three separate one-goal deficits to defeat the Carolina Warriors, 7-3, in the lower-division finals of the classic that was held in Las Vegas at that time. The Warriors finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0-0 record over the three-day event.
