It was a tough night for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms after witnessing their top prospect, Elliott Desnoyers, exit the game, seeing stars due to a hit from Dmitry Osipov of the Hershey Bears.

The hit occurred at 18:02 of the second period when Desnoyers turned to skate up the ice towards the Bears' end, colliding with a wall formed by Osipov's arm. Desnoyers hit the ice hard and remained motionless for several seconds.
Phantoms defenseman Ronnie Attard answered the call, defending his crumpled teammate and receiving a 5-minute penalty for fighting. It was reassuring to see Attard stand up for his teammate after the crushing open-ice hit.

Desnoyers walked down the tunnel very slowly and required assistance from a few people. The 21-year-old left-winger was drafted in the fifth round, 135th overall, by the Flyers in the 2020 entry draft. He stands at 5'11" and weighs 183 pounds. Osipov, 27 years old, stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 234 pounds.
We all hope for a quick recovery for Desnoyers.
