It looks like we could possibly have another big trade in the works this after the news that New York Rangers prospect Nils Lundkvist informed the New York Rangers that he's not going to report to training camp, as he has asked Rangers General Manager Chris Drury for a trade.

The news comes from a reputable source, New York Post Rangers Insider Larry Brooks would share this on the situation:
The Rangers are engaged in an accelerated effort to trade Nils Lundkvist after being notified that the 22-year-old Swedish defenseman is unlikely to report to camp in the absence of a deal, The Post has been told by multiple sources.

The Post has learned that general manager Chris Drury has been working with Lundkvist's agent, Claude Lemieux, in order to effect a trade to an organization in which the Swede would have a better opportunity to challenge for a top-four spot and role as a power-play quarterback.

The Rangers drafted Lundkvist back in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in the first round 28th overall. The 22 year-old defenseman had just 1 goal and 3 assists in 25 games with the Rangers last season.
Brooks also revealed the rumors that the Canucks and Rangers have had discussions of a possible trade. More from Brooks on what the Rangers are looking for in return:
At the same time, though, the Blueshirts are seeking a semblance of equal value in return for Lundkvist, the slick, puck-moving, offense-oriented defenseman who is generously listed at 5-10, 187 pounds.

The Blueshirts, though, could certainly use a young, top-nine-type center who might grow with the organization. That is believed to be Drury's target as they deal with this latest situation involving a young European unhappy with his plight."
The Canucks have been testing the waters on a return for Miller especially more now after Miller's Agent gave the Canucks the ultimatum sign or trade Miller. I don't know if Miller for Lundkvist straight up is a fair deal at least on Vancouver's end, meaning the Rangers are going to have to do Lundkvist plus if they want Miller in the Big Apple.
