Provorov has his first interview as a Blue Jacket.

These rumours were persistent, however, everything came ahead when Provorov announced to the world that he had no interest in putting on a pride jersey during the warm-up at a home game.

These comments and actions caused a firestorm across the NHL where numerous teams weighed their thoughts. Some cancelled wearing their jerseys and others were wearing them with pride. It seemed that this action was going to lead to Provorov being traded.

Once the season was over, newly minted general manager Danny Briere made his first splash by moving Provorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a three-team move which included the LA Kings. Provorov had his first presser with the Columbus press core and explained that his trip cut short due to the trade.

The Flyers and Provorov will benefit from this move, since he needs a fresh start and will be the Blue Jackets' main defenceman.

As a longtime former Flyer, Provorov was a household name had had high potential to become an elite defenseman. I think it's good that the Flyers are moving on and will begin their new rebuild phase very shortly.
