The Philadelphia Flyers have officially fired Chuck Fletcher as of three days ago, and Flyers fans could not be more thrilled, but what's next for Danny Briere's plans? It seems as if it has been revealed...

Elliotte Friedman notes that Dave Scott says «multi-year process» in the release.

«That is an admission that for the first time, maybe in our lifetimes, this is where Philly is goingthey are doing a full rebuild."

A multi-year rebuilding process is a large task for a lot of players, many players, including veterans and youngsters may not want to be apart of that multi-year process to turn the team around, that is not even guaranteed to succeed.
A similar situation with the Chicago Blackhawks, who traded away 23-year old Alex DeBrincat as he was not willing to waste his 'youth' with a bottom, rebuilding organization. Now, the Flyers are reportedly in the same boat with goaltender Carter Hart, who is 24-years of age himself.

Marek at the intermission says they're starting to wonder about Carter Hart with the emergence of Samuel Ersson, they can extend Hart, but does he want to spend the prime of his career in what looks like will be a complete tear down and rebuild in Philly?

Carter Hart has one year left after this season on his $3.79m annual salary deal, and may go a different route, and request to be dealt elsewhere in a similar situation to Alex DeBrincat, according to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman.
