The Flyers prospect has yet to make the jump to the NHL and has spent his time developing in a foreign league close to his hometown, where he is now participating in the teams preseason games, where he would step in front of a player preparing to block a shot and it went severely wrong..
He described the situation shortly after the game:
Must read on FlyersInsider
He jumped in front of me and then I didn't see the shot. It just clicked and I collapsed.

I was really groggy, but my head seems to have recovered and I remember everything. There was a lot of blood, but I didn't have time to think much.

The blood was severe, and the impact of the shot to the face caused the young player to be unstable, his teammates would help him off the ice before being transported to the nearest hospital..
He is expected to miss a long period of time, and will be unable to eat solid foods or even yawn while he recovers.
Liquid food, until it heals together. I can't eat or yawn, because then the stitches tighten.

The injuries suffered may be disturbing to some, the photos are available for viewing on the next page below..
